  2. Giving blood does not hurt. When a needle is placed into your vein it may sting minimally for a short amount of time however the stinging does not remain and you will not be able to feel the blood flowing out of your arm. Some people have suggested that they do feel slightly faint after giving blood, however this feeling is also very short-lived and commonly goes away within seconds! Hope that helps!

  3. It hurts some more than others, but it’s worth the pain. Plus you get juice and cookies afterwards.

  4. Yeah it’s worse than getting a shot. If you faint easily then don’t do it!!!!

  5. Giving blood lets you renew your blood and feel fresh. It also reduces the risk of heart attacks. But if you have anemia, you better consult your doctor before giving blood.

  9. No it doesn’t hurt real bad, however they do have to use a needle to get it. My advise, don’t look at your arm and you’ll be fine. just remember you’re doing a great deed, so there is some sacrifice involved.

  10. It doesn’t hurt bad. The only discomfort I find is the needle going in, but it’s well worth it. Giving Blood is being a HERO! I’ve given blood for years. Make sure you take time afterwards to have a snack and drink fluids. Normally they’ll want you to stay around for about 15 minutes. No matter what, know that you are helping in a big way. Also once you start, you’ll keep donating. Thanks for being a HERO!

  11. Giving blood will not hurt with the exception of the needle stick. If you have had blood taken for a medical test, you have had the same basic procedure performed. Giving blood should be no problem.

the physical pain isnt too bad but u might get uneasy mentally, i did once. its disconcerting laying there with the needle in u for so long and watching what looks like a lot of blood being drained out.

  16. No not really. The only real pain is when they stick the needle in and it’s only for a second, like getting a shot. I get a burning sensation that lasts for a few seconds. But after that there’s no pain. The to put the needle in, get the blood, and to take to needle out, it takes about 15 mins, so sit next to a friends so you can talk. But over all it’s doesn’t hurt really. I think the thing that hurts the worst is the finger prick. Good luck!
