I believe you can get it with a debit card – I have Rhapsody and got it with my debit card. I don’t think there’s another way to get it, and I’m really not sure of the benefits of Yahoo Plus.

you can get a visa gift card, i get way more offers and better service with yahoo plus

I don’t know of any benefits of Yahoo! Mail plus is only for Mail, but you can view a full list of benefits at http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/plus/plus-14.html

We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards, plus debit cards with the Visa or MasterCard logo on them.

We do not accept payments by check or money order.”

Unfortunately, it cannot be purchased for you as a gift either, only with your Yahoo! ID, so it looks like you’re out of luck in this case.
