I grew up in a small town, with very few jobs available, so my husband and I moved to NW Ar, we heard that the area was booming and we figured we would have a better life-style there.
But we soon found differently, the place is over-run with illegal mexicans! I know it sound sbad, but I was turned down for jobs beacuase I was stupid enough to ask for minimu wage, or besauce I couldn’t speak spanish.
How is this right? How is this good for america?
I understand moving to better the situation for you family, but why is it okay to break the law to do it?
Also, it is a Felony to drive a car without a drivers liscence, but not to illegal cross in to our country? HOw hard would it be for an arab to goto mexico, dress like amexican, and walk in to our crountry?
Normally, I am very liberal, but in this case, I am conservative. I know that there a lot of people here and that the solution to how they should be handled is not easy.

Honestly, my opinion is that the illegal immigrants should be forced to leave. The operative word in the whole situation is illegal. It’s against the law. They have no right nor standpoint to enter the country and attempt to change our laws to accomodate them. No, I really don’t care if their only child is a legal citizen of this country and they’re not. The child can go into state custody and the parents can be kicked back across the border. The entire situation is out of hand. Over 14million illegal immigrants are currently in the US. That is 14 million jobs that could go to legal US citizens who are desperatly in need of work. The strongest opposition to doing any sort of serious reform to the whole issue is the immigrants themselves and companies. Companies get to hire them dirt cheap, usually for under the table wages, half of which they send back to Mexico an is never spent here which just hurts our economy.
Send ‘em all back to Mexico. Use whatever means neccessary. We are not the world’s free handout.
Edit: Yes, all of our families were immigrants at one time. The point, however, is missed with this particular arguement for pro-immigration. Quite a few of those familes and their offshoots were colonists prior to the founding of the country. Therefore if there was no country it was not an illegal immigration. They weren’t immigrants, but founders and colonists. Next, if you’re in reference to those of african descent they weren’t immigrants either, they were slaves brought against their will. Thirdly, if you can complain that your country is a country of squalor why would you want to come here to spread it? Here’s a suggestion, make changes and reforms in your own government and improve your standard of life, not lower ours. It doesn’t help your situation when your own government is encouraging people to cross our borders illegally. There is no excuse for any sort of amnesty in this situation. The only resolution is one of no tolerance and simple removal of the problem, by political or forceful means.
And, as it has been mentioned, yes other immigrants from other countries other then Mexico are illegally moving into the US. And in my opinion they shouldn’t be here either. But, statisically speaking, they are a far smaller problem then the Mexicans. When you can show me 14million illegal Cubans or Haitans in the U.S. then I’ll lay off the illegal Mexicans. They should be removed as well, but we need to deal with the bigger problem at hand first. If we get rid of the larger problem, the smaller ones will be easier to remove.
As for fairness or equality in the situation you get none. Again, you’re illegally here, deal with it. You want to improve you way of life, get a green card and naturalize. You’re just hurting your own countrymen who have gone through the legal process to be here by making them look bad. I have no sympathy for you. Get in line with the others, you’re not special just because your government happens to be physically connected to the U.S.

it seems that all our jobs are being sent over seas to countries where the workers will do the work cheap. then you have people coming into this country getting jobs… which leaves americans with not much oppourtunity to grow. Most of us are from descendants of other countrys. But i beleive it has gotten out of control… our county is falling apart… we need to rebuild, be proud and strong… and it that means harsher laws… i feel it must be done.

Why are you blaming the mexicans, when they are invited over by white men. Not because they don’t want to pay minimum wage many in fact most illegal aliens get paid better than mimimum wage. A bunch of rich white men don’t want to pay FICA taxes, or workman’s comp, or deal with workplace safety issues. So they exploit poor people who don’t have those guarantees where they come from and won’t miss them. It is American greed that makes our border porous. The companies some of them huge (Think Pilgrim’s Pride Chicken and others) pay off our politicians to keep the southern border porous and then the same politicians use typical american stupidity and bigotry to blame the problem on the people who take the job instead of the people sending them the invitations.

I live in a small town in New Mexico. Most of my friends are Mexicans, I don’t think that we should deny people entry into our country just because they were born in a different one. I DO think that we should make it easier For people to become legal US citizens, and try to cut down on the ones that just run accross the border. But even the ones that do just run accross the border only create one problem and that is loss of jobs for others. They rarely cause crime or other bad things like that.

I believe that the legal people should get jobs instead of the illegals that are flooding the nation. Most of them work in the food service industry. Now tell me, do you want people who might have drugs or diseases preparing the very food you eat? i think not. This country needs to secure its borders. It amazes me as well, americas response on this issue. I live is Arizona and we definetly have a problem. We can’t use our emergency rooms because they are packed of illegals (yes they are illegal, stop calling them immigrants, illegal) who want free healthcare. We pay for them to learn our language, and go to school. How is this helping us?
It doesn’t, the amazing thing is how many liberals what to make this seem okay, breaking the law. It is the law, pure and simple and certain people want to make it okay, it’s rediculous. Why is it wrong to secure our borders, why can’t people see that one of the main concerns is how easy it would be for a terrorist to get through with weapons.
Heck, we are “offending” the illegals so much we can’t display our flag anymore in school, their flag is more important.
Before that we can’t even say the pledge of alegence in schools anymore (not that that is the main issue here but it was one of the starting points).
There are several ways to solve the problem, all involving the military to secure our borders, just like every other country. You can’t secure the borders by being peaceful, asking or anything, you need to display force.
Example: If there were no law for stealing, murdering, raping or anything, or if there was a law and it was never enforced, what would happen. Pure Chaos. That is why societies were created, to help end chaos, it seems our country is doing a great job with letting them get away with it, all stars on that one.

Ok … so whats the deal with everyone saying… Mexico, Mexico, Mexico…. This seems more like a racial thing than an immigration thing. There are dozens of nationalities here illegally so whats the big thing on Mexico! The majority of illegals are from Mexico, yes i understand this. Thats not the point… This immigration reform if for all the illegals, not just focused on Mexico!

Funny it is all us “lazy Americans” that did all those jobs before! Hmm yea I beleive its all the LEGAL IMMIGRANTS and born Americans that created this “land of Milk and honey” that the illegals run to.
Bush has made sure our economy has stayed rock bottom , media lies about new jobs being created when they are merely seasonal jobs or fast food. Starve them and they will come, is and has been his tactic. So our young people are forced to join the military to fight this b.s. war and run our countries debt up more. Were else will they work?
THERE ARE NO JOBS! Illegal immagrants around here are working at Taco Bell! Gas stations, Wendy’s, road construction, housing construction, cleaning services, day care! We cant get government aid for ourselves and our children when we can not find any work. We can not even get a Taco Bell job now! I have dozens of friends who have built houses all over this state all their lives, and now are lucky to work one or two months a year cause illegals have their jobs. Was it because they didn’t want them? NO, as a matter of fact no one even waited to ask them if they did or not. They show up for work after the ground thraws and are told to go home. And yes for the sake our kids we would work it!!! And have been for years. The truth of the matter is there are large numbers of Americans in their 30′s and 40′s with hs diplomia’s and many with college that cannot find work now. Job statistics are and have been manipulated (lied) about for some time.
The Illegals do not come into this country and stay on the tomatoe farms… They run to any employer who will take them, and send there women to the welfare office for government aid. Destroy a large percentage of rental properties, Sell some mexican swag on the side and do not go home after harvest time in most situations. Why should they? We hand them the keys to the city!
We spend billions on medical care, food, housing, prisons. They send all their money back to Mexico. Lower our wages and work standards and are now filling job slots we Americans need, now that all American jobs worth a damn are now “outsourced” or “sized down”. How can you use someone who illegaly came over here knowing all this? They arent forced to illegaly jump our boarders and come here to work. Hell they can grow tomatoes in mexico too. And do! Most of our winter produce is now Mexican grown in Mexico. Hell they now have handbooks on how to survive in America now, it’s printed by the Mexican government. Very few of their employers legally withhold taxes or SS. Most are contractor type jobs. And it’s time a few of you get your heads out of the clouds, cause this whole situation has been corrupt for some time. We don’t abuse and use them, corrupt employers might. The illegals think what they are being offered is great! And that is why the employers also need to be punished and fined.
They come here Illegally and expect we owe them food stamps and medical care! Do we get this when visiting their countries? Hell no! Everywhere the American goes now we have “sucker” on our forheads. We can pay for it all! Lower their import taxes into our country or remove them all together. Send them food that our government won’t even give to our poor, send them weapons and training. Yea we can do it all ! Now they have the nerve to march in our streets with their country’s flags! Demanding they have rights here and the right to come here by whatever means they choose and act as they choose. The problem has been let to go on so long, and catered to for so long they now seem to think they are intitialed to EVERYTHING WE HAVE INCLUDING PRESSURING OUR POLITICIANS! When was the last time you picked up a product or a set of instructions without having to search for the English text?
Is this just directed towards Mexicans? NO, but what other country is flooding our boarders illegally and now marching in OUR streets with Mexican flags raised?
CLOSE THE BOARDERS! Stop all immagration until the 40,000 expired visa’s have been tracked down and sent back or renewed. The Illegals of any nationality have been tracked down and removed from our prisons, and sent back. And only after we have a grip again on OUR COUNTRY, except application for immigration, the legal way! As our ancestors before us did.We spend more on White house China and coins made for each state than we do immigration inforcement and boarder security. If we can afford billions a day to go off and fight wars based on lies for other countries. I think we can afford deportion of illegals and securing our boarders. Discontinue this spanish double labeling on American products, discontinue catering to other languages for every single product and service we offer, spending our money, raising our costs as consumers to do so. Stop cutting our schools funds and then creating mandatory spanish classes. And LEARN ENGLISH! The language of America is English and ALWAYS has been.
Immigrants want a better life? Then proove it! Entering this country Illegaly, using our resources illgally does not proove to anyone they want a better way of life, only that they want to continue the life they grew accustomed to in their own countries. Marching in our streets with Mexican flags prooves your not interested in becoming a legal American, only that you want to turn America into your new Mexico and to run our legal system the way it is run there.
And those statistics are nothing but lies and propaganda. The Illegal immigrant takes far more in money from America than they contribute. First of all any employer that hires them is very unlikely to be legally tax them and isnt even claiming them all. Better get an update on what is spent daily on each prisoner and housing/food stamps/medical care as well as drug busts for each illegal immigrant.
