::shrug::: I sometimes wonder if people even read the questions…
The Buddy Holly, Big Bopper and Richie Valens plane crash (“The Day the Music Died”) occurred February 3, 1959 in Clear Lake, Iowa, which is rarely confused with Little Rock, Arkansas.
The most famous Little Rock plane crash occurred much more recently than the 1950s – American Airlines flight 1420 crashed during severe thunderstorms on June 1, 1999. There were 11 fatalities of the 145 people on board – one, was the captain, who was later accorded much of the blame for the crash in the FAA investigation.
An Associated Press article on the 1999 crash stated that the AA 1420 incident was the first crash of a commercial airliner in the (then) 82-year history of Little Rock’s airport.
