The most famous Little Rock plane crash occurred much more recently than the 1950s - American Airlines flight 1420 crashed during severe thunderstorms on June 1, 1999. There were 11 fatalities of the 145 people on board - one, was the captain, who was later accorded much of the blame for the crash in the FAA investigation.
