I would suggest looking at the requirements to major in both subjects and then determining if the amount of time required to finish both will extend your time in college. I double majored when I obtained my bachelors degree. The great thing was that I used the hours for one major as elective hours for the other – which did not extend my stay. I was able to complete both majors in four years (with one summer of classes to meet prerequisites).
I currently work at a community college and a large number of students find it difficult to return to school to complete a degree once they have left. If you are the type student who has a lot of self discipline and can stand the number long hours that might be required to do it all at one time, I would go for completing them both simultaneously. My advice to you is to talk to the academic advisor at UCA to get an accurate assessment of the amount of hours it will take to complete both.
Good luck!

I will offer you some wonderful advice. Make sure that everything you take at your first school will transfer to your second. I know they are supposed to, but check it out for yourself. I know so many people who lost hours often because of incompatible systems in their majors. Get the book from UCA and plan all four years (or more) for yourself. I know there are counsilors for this and they may modify your plan, but you want to know what you are doing for your self. It is too expensive in time and money to mess up. Besides, planning is fun. Only you know your finances and after school plans. Either major can be done in four years total college, and they are reasonably compatible.
